HC Deb 12 April 1933 vol 276 c2573
10. Lieut.-Commander AGNEW

(for Sir BERTRAM FALLE) asked the First Lord of the Admiralty if and when he proposes to abolish the cuts in the pay of Royal Navy ratings?

The FIRST LORD of the ADMIRALTY (Sir Bolton Eyres Monsell)

I have nothing to add to the reply given by the Prime Minister on the 7th February, a copy of which I am sending to my hon. and gallant Friend.

Viscountess ASTOR

Does the right hon. Gentleman not think that these questions are very upsetting for the Navy? Is it not better that people should consult the Admiralty before holding out false hopes?
