HC Deb 04 April 1933 vol 276 cc1560-1
18. Mr. T. WILLIAMS

asked the President of the Board of Trade if he is now in a position to state the terms of reference and the composition of the committee to inquire into coupon trading?

The PRESIDENT of the BOARD of TRADE (Mr. Runciman)

The personnel of the committee is nearly complete and I hope to announce the names of the members in the course of the next few days. The terms of reference will be to consider the trading practices which the Gift Coupon Bill introduced into the House of Commons on the 28th November, 1932, seeks to make illegal and to report whether, in their opinion, any of these practices are detrimental to the public interest.
