HC Deb 03 April 1933 vol 276 c1419
38. Mr. THOMAS COOK

asked the Minister of Health if his Department has received reports of abuse of the Public Health (Meat) Regulations, 1924; and whether the regulations are being adhered to in the county of Norfolk?

Mr. SHAKESPEARE

My right hon. Friend assumes that the reference is to the question of the occasional slaughter of animals on unregistered and unlicensed premises, and he has received a number of letters on this subject. It is primarily for the Local Authorities to determine to what extent such slaughtering is permissible and no specific allegations have been brought to his notice of failure by the local authorities in Norfolk to discharge their duties in this respect.
