HC Deb 31 October 1932 vol 269 c1417
24. Sir WILLIAM DAVISON

asked the Secretary to the Overseas Trade Department what instructions have been given to the Export Credits Advisory Committee as to the grant of any further export credits to Russia; and within what periods and up to what amount have the committee discretionary powers in respect of such credits?

Lieut.-Colonel J. COLVILLE (Secretary, Overseas Trade Department)

As I have already informed the House, the Advisory Committee are not at present prepared to recommend the granting of guarantees covering credits of more than 18 months in respect of exports to Russia. As regards the amount of such guarantees, this must be determined by circumstances which are the subject of close examination by the Committee in consultation with His Majesty's Government.
