Order for Committee read.

The following Notice of Motion stood upon the Order Paper: That it be an Instruction to the Committee that they have power to insert a provision that effect shall be deemed to be given to the Ottawa Agreements subject to such modifications as are necessary to safeguard the rights of this House to reduce or repeal duties imposed by section one of the Import Duties Act, 1932, and subject to the right to terminate any one of the Agreements six months after notice of denunciation has been given by either party."—[Mr. Attlee.]

Mr. SPEAKER

In my judgment, the Committee can deal with this question without any Instruction from this House.
