HC Deb 25 October 1932 vol 269 c816
49. Captain P. MACDONALD

asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether it is his intention to make any statement during the current Session as to the further economies which it is intended to make in national expenditure?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I am not at present in a position to say definitely when I shall be ready to make a statement on this subject, but I hardly think it likely that the occasion will arise during the current Session.

Mr. MORGAN JONES

Are we to take it that various committees which have been dealing with this question of economy have already reported?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I have not received any report.
