HC Deb 25 October 1932 vol 269 c811
42. Captain ARTHUR EVANS

asked the Home Secretary whether members of the Metropolitan police flying squad detailed to deal particularly with motor bandits are armed; and if, in view of the growing menace from this quarter, he will consider the advisability of arming all policemen on night duty?

Sir J. GILMOUR

Captain EVANS

Is it the universal practice throughout the country for the police authorities to give these instructions?
