HC Deb 30 November 1932 vol 272 cc796-7
3. Mr. LEWIS

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will make representations to the Spanish Government on the subject of their failure to carry out their obligations to the Santander-Mediterraneo Company?

Sir J. SIMON

The position of the claim of the Santander-Mediterraneo Company has been under exhaustive and sympathetic examination by His Majesty's Government, in consultation with His Majesty's Ambassador in Madrid. As a result of this examination, the Anglo-Spanish Construction Company, which has financed the project, has been asked to furnish further information on various essential points. Until that information is received, the possibility of making representations to the Spanish Government cannot be decided.
