HC Deb 30 November 1932 vol 272 c804
51. Mr. MACLEAN

asked the Secretary of State for Scotland what is the total sum paid annually in Scotland to factory owners and others under the de-rating provisions of the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1929?

Sir G. COLLINS

No payments other than grants to local authorities are made on account of de-rating under the Local Government (Scotland) Act, 1929, but the total rate-reduction due to the de-rating provisions of the Act is, on the basis of the standard year (1928–9), approximately 23,250,000.
