Mr. CHAMBERLAINThe aggregate amount of the penalties of the bonds given to secure the payment of Excise Duty on tea lying in approved warehouses at the date of the re-imposition of the Tea Duty was approximately £1,540,000. The amount of Excise Duty 628 collected on tea otherwise stored was approximately £958,000.
