HC Deb 28 November 1932 vol 272 c478
49. Mr. BATEY (for Mr. THORNE)

asked the Home Secretary whether he will make representations to the omnibus companies in London with a view to the provision of fare boards on the top deck of covered motor vehicles?

Sir J. GILMOUR

It has never been the practice for fare boards to be displayed on the upper deck of covered top, omnibuses, and I have no evidence of any general public demand that they should be so displayed. I understand that one the omnibuses to be introduced next year, the fare table will be displayed near the staircase, where it will be available to passengers proceeding to either deck.
