HC Deb 15 November 1932 vol 270 c947
72. Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies the present position with regard to Cyprus; and whether consideration is being given at the present time to the constitutional position there?

The SECRETARY of STATE for the COLONIES (Sir Philip Cunliffe-Lister)

Order and tranquillity now prevail in Cyprus, and the position there may be said to be satisfactory, except that the island is still feeling the effects of the drought which occurred last summer. The answer to the second part of the question is in the negative.
