§ 30. Mr. ANSTRUTHER-GRAYasked the Secretary of State for Scotland if he can now give any indication as to the amount of Government financial assistance which will be forthcoming to assist the provision of allotments in Scotland during the current year and 1933, respectively?
§ Sir G. COLLINSFor the purpose of assisting unemployed persons to obtain and to cultivate allotments in Great Britain, arrangements have been adjusted for the period commencing September, 1932, under which a Government grant not exceeding £12,500 will be made at the rate of £1 for £1 of money raised by subscription and expended in an approved manner up to £10,000, and of £1 for £2 thereafter. This grant cannot at present be allocated between England and Wales and Scotland. The ultimate allocation will depend on the amounts subscribed.
