§ The SECRETARY of STATE for the HOME DEPARTMENT (Sir John Gilmour)The answer to the first part of the question is in the affirmative. The action was taken on the instructions of the local Superintendent of Police, as a 744 precautionary measure in view of imminent disorder. The petition was returned to a representative of the National Unemployed Workers Movement on the 3rd November.
