§ Mr. LANSBURYMay I ask the business for next week?
§ The PRIME MINISTEROn Monday and Tuesday, until 7.30, the Second Reading of the Transitional Payments (Determination of Need) Bill. The remaining stages of this Bill will be taken after 7.30 on Tuesday.
On Wednesday, after Government business has been disposed of, an opportunity will be available for discussion on an Opposition Motion relating to secondary school fees.
The Government hope to pass before the end of the Session the Visiting Forces (British Commonwealth) Bill, and the Administration of Justice Bill, both of which have come from another place and, as I am informed, are not likely to raise any controversy.
If the necessary business is disposed of, there would appear to be no reason why Prorogation should not take place on Thursday, the 17th November.
§ Mr. LANSBURYIs the date for the reassembly that which has appeared in the Press, namely, the 22nd November?
§ The PRIME MINISTERYes.
§ Mr. LANSBURYMay I ask another question? I am sorry that I did not give notice of it, but I think that the Prime Minister will be able to answer it. The time for concluding the remaining stages of the Transitional Payments Bill is 11 o'clock on Tuesday night. If, after seeing the Bill to-morrow, we care to arrange through the usual channels to divide the time up a little differently, I take it that there will be no objection?
§ The PRIME MINISTERThat is a proposal to which I offer no objection, and I do not think that it will be necessary on this occasion.
§
