§ Mr. E. BROWNSection 40 of the Coal Mines Act already requires that winding apparatus ordinarily used for raising or lowering persons at shafts more than 100 yards in depth shall be provided with an effective automatic contrivance to prevent overwinding. There is no collected information as to the numbers of the different types of contrivance which are in use.
