asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether the Government has recommended the proclamation of Tuesday, 27th December, as a holiday?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I propose to recommend that in due course the necessary steps should be taken to declare Tuesday, the 27th December, a Bank Holiday this year in England and Wales.
