HC Deb 02 November 1932 vol 269 c1770
24. Colonel BALDWIN-WEBB

asked the Minister of Transport what reports he has received from his technical experts as to whether further settlement of Waterloo Bridge is still taking place; and whether he is satisfied that no danger exists of the collapse of the bridge?

Mr. PYBUS

I am informed that the slow subsidence of parts of the structure still proceeds. I understand also that, in the view of the advisers of the London County Council, there is no immediate danger of collapse subject to the continued maintenance of the temporary supports, but that a permanent solution of the problem presented by this bridge cannot with safety be indefinitely postponed.
