HC Deb 30 May 1932 vol 266 c810
11. Mr. PARKINSON

(for Mr. RHYS DAVIES) asked the Secretary of State for India whether any provision has been made by the Government of India to enable the Indian delegation to the forthcoming conference at Ottawa to have the assistance of non-official advisers representative of Indian workers' and employers' interests?

Sir S. HOARE

The Government of India are considering the appointment of expert advisers to their delegation. They are also informing inquirers in India that, if the commercial and industrial interests send representatives to Ottawa at their own expense, the Government have no doubt that the Indian delegation will be glad to avail itself of the advice of such persons as and when necessary, but that the question of their attendance at meetings and of allowing them access to Conference papers must be left to the decision of the Conference.
