HC Deb 30 May 1932 vol 266 c819
27. Sir CHARLES CAYZER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs if he will request the German Government to inform him as to the nature of the recent negotiations to alienate the equities of the Hamburg Waterworks, in view of the fact that a loan was raised publicly in Great Britain on the security of those waterworks and in reliance on the good faith of the City of Hamburg towards British investors?

Mr. EDEN

My right hon. Friend has no official information on this subject, but he has caused preliminary inquiries to be made and these hardly confirm the facts of the case as suggested by my hon. Friend. A report on the matter is, however, being called for.
