Mr. TEMPLE MORRISasked the Minister of Health whether, in view of the fact that no case of psittacosis has been reported in Argentina for over a year and the inconvenience the present restriction on the importation of parrots is causing the public, he can see his way to modify the present regulations regarding the introduction of parrots into this country?
Sir H. YOUNGThis question is receiving continuous attention in my Department in the light of all the information available on the subject, but I am not satisfied that the risk of the spread of psittacosis through the importation of parrots has so far diminished that the restrictions on their importation, which apply generally and not only to Argentina, could safely be relaxed at present.
