HC Deb 25 May 1932 vol 266 c346
17. Captain P. MACDONALD

asked the Secretary of State for the Colonies whether, in view of the recent outcome of the Wakamba witch-murder case and the report of the special commission appointed by the Government of Kenya to inquire into the Bugishu murder trial, he will consider the advisability of appointing a committee of inquiry into the whole administration of justice in native cases in East African territories?

Sir P. CUNLIFFE-LISTER

It has already been decided to institute an inquiry into the administration of criminal justice in relation to natives in Kenya, Uganda, and the Tanganyika Territory, and correspondence on the subject is still proceeding with the Governments of those dependencies.
