asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will consider a revision of Notice 163, issued by the Customs and Excise Department, in order that bona fide trade samples may be imported without delay and without having to pay duties equivalent to 68 per cent. of the value of the sample?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

I recognise that the imposition of the new import duties has altered the position in regard to the admission of dutiable goods by sample post, and the question of the revision of Customs Notice No. 163 is under consideration.
