HC Deb 12 May 1932 vol 265 c2306

Considered in Committee.

[Captain BOURNE, in the Chair.]

Clauses 1 (Confirmation of Scheme) and 2 (Short title) ordered to stand part of the Bill.

SCHEDULE.

Motion made, and Question proposed, "That this be the Schedule to the Bill."

Dr. O'DONOVAN

May I ask for an explanation on a point arising out of paragraph 38, which says that certain people shall be removed from being alms people? It reads as if any inmate, who may develop an abscess and be obliged to spend a couple of days in a Poor Law hospital, must cease to be an inmate. I hope that is not so.

Dr. BURGIN

This is a Bill to approve a scheme approved by the Charity Commissioners to which no objection has been taken in the locality, and I am afraid that it is not possible to alter it.

Question put, and agreed to.

Preamble agreed to.

Bill reported, without Amendment; read the Third time, and passed.
