HC Deb 10 May 1932 vol 265 cc1716-7
45. Mr. HALL-CAINE

asked the Prime Minister whether before the House rises this summer, he will be able to make a definite statement as to whether the Government intends to act on the recommendation of the Lord Chancellor's Committee of 1929 in favour of the appointment of a Parliamentary Committee to examine and report on Parliamentary Bills which confer legislative or judicial authority on Ministers and Departments?

Mr. BALDWIN

As my hon. Friend is doubtless aware the report of the Committee referred to has only just been published, and it is obviously quite premature to expect any statement from the Government until there has been time for the careful consideration which so important a document requires.
