asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer if he will impose a special tax on those who for other than business reasons spend time in other than British territories?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

As at present advised, I am not prepared to adopt this suggestion.

Mr. LAMBERT

Having regard to the unemployment figures published this morning, is there not a warning to British residents that it would be wiser for them to spend their holidays at home?

Mr. CHAMBERLAIN

That has already been done.

Will the right hon. Gentleman bear in mind that many foreigners spend their holidays in this country?
