GREY SEALS PROTECTION BILL [Lords].

Order read for Consideration of Lords Amendment in lieu of Commons Amendment disagreed to by the Lords.

Motion made, and Question, "That the Lords Amendment be now considered," put, and agreed to.—[Mr. Skelton.]

Lords Amendment considered accordingly.

CLAUSE 1.—(Close season for grey seals.)

Lords Amendment:

In page 1, line 23, leave out Sub-section (2) and insert: (2) An Order made under this section which renders lawful the killing of grey seals during any part of the period specified in Sub-section (1) shall contain regulations providing for the grant and revocation of permits by the Minister or the Secretary of State and prohibiting such killing except—

  1. (a) by persons holding permits; and
  2. (b) in such manner and by means of such weapon or instrument as may be specified in the regulations."

Motion made, and Question, "That this House doth agree with the Lords in the said Amendment," put, and agreed to.—[Mr. Skelton.]

The remaining Orders were read, and postponed.
