asked the President of the Board of Education if he will state the number of teachers who have taken advantage of the financial assistance given by local authorities for training at teachers' colleges during the past five years; and what has been the cost incurred?

Net Expenditure by Local Education Authorities in respect of Students in Training Colleges and Departments (excluding loans to students).
Year. Training Colleges provided by local Education Authorities. Aid given by Local Education Authorities to Students in Training Colleges (whether provided by L.E.A.s or not) and in Training Departments. Total cost to Local Education Authorities (amount falling on the rates).
Number of Students. Cost to L.E.A.s (amount falling on the rates). Number of Students aided. Cost to, L.E.A.S (amount falling on the rates).
