Mr. MITCHESONasked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in view of the fact that under the Turco-Russian commercial treaty now in effect either country can limit its imports to the amount of exports taken by the other, the Government, when reviewing the present position of Anglo-Russian trade, will consider the possibility of making a similar arrangement with the Soviet Government?
§ Mr. COLVILLEMy hon. Friend must be under a misapprehension as the treaty referred to does not contain the provisions which he suggests. As regards the second part of the question all relevant considerations are being taken into account in connection with Anglo-Soviet trade.
