asked the President of the Board of Trade whether, in order to assist the preservation of peace, he will now consider discontinuing the licence of the export of arms and ammunition to the Far East?

Mr. RUNCIMAN

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answers which I gave him on the 4th and 9th February, to which I have nothing to add.

Mr. ADAMS

Has the right hon. Gentleman conceived the possibility of these arms and ammunition being used against our own nationals?
