HC Deb 22 March 1932 vol 263 c842
3. Mr. TINKER

asked the Secretary for Mines if pension schemes for miners are in operation in other countries; and, if so, will he give the names of such countries?

Mr. ISAAC FOOT

According to the information in my possession regarding European countries, old age pension schemes for miners are in operation in Austria, Belgium, Czechoslovakia, France, the Netherlands, Poland, Spain and Germany.

Mr. TINKER

Can the Minister say if any of the schemes to which it refers were State-aided?

Mr. FOOT

I will give the information in respect of each country and send it privately to the hon. Member.
