HC Deb 21 March 1932 vol 263 cc695-6
52. Sir C. CAYZER

asked the Minister of Health whether any of the whole-time members of his medical staff perform duties or hold appointments other than such as are connected officially with his Department for which they receive emoluments not provided by the State?

The MINISTER of HEALTH (Sir Hilton Young)

The answer is in the affirmative. I should however make it clear that the performance of any such duties or the holding of any such appointments (which consist of the delivery of occasional lectures or acting temporarily as examiners) are only allowable where they do not interfere with the regular duties and the position of an officer as a public servant, or with the public interest.
