HC Deb 17 March 1932 vol 263 cc431-2
2. Mr. PARKINSON

asked the Minister of Labour if he will consider the desirability of amending the Unemployment Insurance Act so as to make provision for the payment of dependants' allowances to the wife, if under 65 years of age, and family of men aged over 65 years who are engaged in industry and temporarily unemployed, seeing that the employer continues to pay contributions after men have received an old age pension?

The MINISTER of LABOUR (Sir Henry Betterton)

No, Sir, I cannot consider this in advance of the Report of the Royal Commission on Unemployment Insurance.
