HC Deb 15 March 1932 vol 263 cc180-1
47. Mr. D. GRENFELL

asked the Prime Minister the number and names of the Members of the Cabinet who will attend the Ottawa Conference; and whether he proposes to head the British delegation?

The PRIME MINISTER

Almost immediately after the formation of the present Government, a Committee of the Cabinet was appointed to supervise the preparations for the Ottawa Conference, so far as His Majesty's Government in the United Kingdom is concerned. This Committee has been continuously at work since then. The composition of the United Kingdom delegation has not yet been considered by the Cabinet.

Mr. HANNON

When will the right hon. Gentleman be in a position to announce the names of the Members of the Cabinet who will go to Ottawa?

The PRIME MINISTER

Very shortly, I hope. A little depends upon the work that is being done now.

Mr. MARJORIBANKS

Do I understand the right hon. Gentleman to say that the composition has not been considered, or that it has not been decided?

The PRIME MINISTER

The question of the composition of the delegation has not even been mentioned in the Cabinet.
