§ 26. Mr. COCKSasked the Home Secretary whether he can state how many deaths were recorded as due to want, or accelerated by want, by coroners during the year ended 29th February, 1932?
§ Sir H. SAMUELCertain figures are published annually in the Criminal Statistics issued by the Home Office. The figures for 1930 will be published shortly, but the Criminal Statistics do not give just the information desired. I may, however, refer the hon. Member to the figures published by the Registrar-General in his Statistical Review for 1930 (Part 1, p. 22), according to which the number of persons whose deaths were classified as due to hunger or thirst was 14.
Viscountess ASTORDoes not the right hon. Gentleman honestly think that more people die of over-eating and over-drinking?
