§ 36. Mr. POTTERasked the Minister of Labour the total amount of the grants made to local authorities, and to other public bodies, in respect of unemployment relief schemes to the most convenient date?
Mr. HUDSONI would refer my hon. Friend to the replies given to the hon. Member for Derbyshire, West (Marquess of Hartington) on 25th February, and to the right hon. Member for Tamworth (Sir A. Steel-Maitland) on the 3rd March, of which I am sending him copies. These replies referred to State-aided relief works assisted from the Unemployment Grants Committee and from the Road Fund, on which the bulk of expenditure out of public funds is incurred.
