HC Deb 08 March 1932 vol 262 c1619
26. Mr. McKIE

(for Mrs. WARD) asked the Secretary for Mines the amount of money (raised by the levy on coal) that has gone to the Miners' Welfare Fund of Great Britain; and if any of the money is devoted to helping the aged miners?

Mr. ISAAC FOOT

The total amount collected in respect of the output levy to 29th February last, was £9,965,927. The only grants made therefrom specifically for the benefit of aged miners have been for the provision of aged miners' homes, and these amount to £30,350.
