§ Mr. PYBUSMr. Riches has recently recovered after a serious illness, and in view of the heavy strain of work, which the Northern Area entails, it was in my opinion desirable to meet his request for transfer to a district where the pressure is less severe. I am indebted to Sir John Maxwell for consenting to an exchange of duties as well as for acting for three 1481 months as deputy-chairman at Newcastle, in addition to his ordinary duties as chairman for the Northern Area of Scotland.
