HC Deb 07 March 1932 vol 262 cc1461-2
19. Mr. HANNON

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether his attention has been called to the recent decision of the Austrian Government to censor all registered letters posted in Austria and addressed to foreign countries; and, in view of the accepted practice of the general principle of international law relating to postal correspondence between Austria and Great Britain, any representations have been made on this subject to the Austrian Government?

Mr. EDEN

I have, no information regarding the decision in question beyond that which has appeared in the Press. His Majesty's Minister at Vienna has been requested to report on the matter, and if my hon. Friend will be good enough to put down a question for next week I hope to be in a position to give him a reply.
