HC Deb 27 June 1932 vol 267 c1479
The UNDER-SECRETARY of STATE for SCOTLAND (Mr. Skelton)

I desire to make a personal explanation, for the purpose of correcting an error which I made in the Debate last Wednesday on the Estimates of the Scottish Department of Health. In replying, I made it appear that at 31st May of this year there were 23,854 houses approved but not yet begun in Scotland. That figure is the total of houses both under construction and approved but not yet begun, as I had stated in my opening speech in the Debate. The correct figures for houses approved but not yet begun are: On 31st May, 1932, 1931 and 1930, respectively, 7,877, 6,452 and 4,285. I should like to apologise to the House for my rather crass mistake.
