At 15th May, 1932, there was a total of 238,067 sane persons in receipt of poor relief in Scotland, comprising 82,788 persons with 71,096 dependants in receipt of ordinary relief, and 30,112 persons with 54,071 dependants in receipt of able-bodied relief.
