HC Deb 23 June 1932 vol 267 c1252
46. Mr. MABANE

asked the Prime Minister whether the Government will now declare their intention to make the establishment of a uniform basis for the currencies of the Empire one of its objectives at the Ottawa Conference, in view of the official declarations recently made in Australia, Canada, and New Zealand in favour of the initiation by the Ottawa Conference of measures for the stabilisation of the currencies of all British countries?

Mr. BALDWIN

I would refer my hon. Friend to the answer given by the Chancellor of the Exchequer to a question by my hon. Friend the Member for Shore-ditch (Mr. Summersby) on 9th instant, and to the statement which I made in the Debate on the Dominions Office Vote on 16th instant, to which T have nothing to add.
