§ 12. Mr. REMER(for Mr. HANNON) asked the Home Secretary if he is aware that various organisations engaged in the collection of subscriptions for charities paid as much as 33⅓ per cent, of the amount realised to the collectors; and if he will consider the introduction of legislation to provide for the compulsory registration of all charities?
Mr. STANLEYI have no information as to the point raised in the first paragraph of the question. The answer to the second paragraph is in the negative. I may remind the hon. Member that the recent committee on the supervision of charities, after a very careful examination of the whole matter, reported strongly against compulsory registration.
