HC Deb 22 June 1932 vol 267 c1090
31. Captain BALFOUR

asked the Minister of Transport if he is aware that a private motor yacht, owned by Mr. Norman Dore, a customer of Ramsgate harbour for over 12 years, was recently forcibly prevented from leaving the inner harbour for the outer basin by the harbour staff; that Mr. Dore was informed that the detention was by the harbour master's orders and on account of unpaid dues, which amounted to under 10s. and for which the owner received no demand note; that Mr. Dore desired to pay the amount but was unable, to do so owing to the harbour office being closed, thus causing loss of tide and day; and if he will investigate this incident and issue instructions to the harbour master to treat users of the harbour more considerately?

Mr. PYBUS

I am calling for a report upon the incident to which my hon. and gallant Friend refers, and will communicate with him when I have received it.
