HC Deb 22 June 1932 vol 267 c1078
7. Mr. MANDER

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs the present position with regard to the proposal of the Manchukuo with reference to the maritime customs in Manchuria?

Mr. EDEN

I have no information as to any proposal by Manchukuo. As regards the actual position, I cannot add anything to the answers given to my hon. Friend the Member for Farnham (Sir A. M. Samuel) on 13th and 20th June and the hon. Member for Govan (Mr. N. Maclean) on 14th June.

Mr. MANDER

Has the hon. Member seen the statement in the "Times" today that the Customs and Excise have been seized by the Manchurian Government?

Mr. EDEN

I have seen the statement but we have no confirmation of it at the Foreign Office.
