HC Deb 16 June 1932 vol 267 c527
35. Mr. McCORQUODALE

asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether, seeing that many European countries, including Germany, have, in order to encourage tourists from the United States of America, abolished the visa charge from that country, he is prepared for the same reason to consider reducing or abolishing the charge for a visa made to American tourists wishing to visit Great Britain?

Mr. EDEN

No, Sir. I regret that His Majesty's Government still feel compelled to adhere to the decision announced by my right hon. Friend in reply to the hon. and gallant Member for the Isle of Wight (Captain P. Macdonald) on 30th November last.
