asked the Prime Minister whether, in view of the urgency of legislation with regard to rent restriction, he will reconsider the desirability of prolonging the Session with a view to passing an agreed Bill on the subject?

I am afraid I cannot add anything to the statement made by my right hon. Friend the Lord President of the Council on the 2nd June with regard to the Business to be considered before the Summer Recess.

Mr. KIRKWOOD

The Lord President of the Council said that the House would adjourn owing to Cabinet Ministers having to go to Ottawa, because the conference would deal with Empire and international affairs. I have put to the Prime Minister something that will only affect national affairs, that is, Britain itself, and surely the Minister of Health can pilot the Bill through—
