asked the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs whether he can state the total amount for which thi3 country is liable in respect of members of delegations attending the Geneva Conferences from 1st January, 1932, to the nearest convenient date?

Mr. EDEN

The expenditure on British delegations to conferences at Geneva for the period from 1st January, 1932, to 31st May, 1932, was approximately £18,000, of which some £17,000 is attributable to the Disarmament Confernece.

Can my hon. Friend say what is the average subsistence allowance per day for our Geneva delegates?

I cannot say without notice, but I know that it is small.
