Mr. HERBERT WILLIAMSasked the Minister of Transport whether the approval of the Electricity Commissioners to the purchase by the London and Home Counties Joint Electricity Authority from the Leatherhead and district undertaking for the sum of £312,540, assets which stood in the books of the latter at £230,148, was based on general considerations or was the result of special circumstances; and, if so, will he state the nature of the special circumstances?
§ Mr. PYBUSThe undertaking, comprising both fixed and liquid assets, was purchased on the basis of a going concern and the value does not depend wholly on the value of the fixed assets.
