asked the Minister of Agriculture how many applications have been made under the Merchandise Marks Act, 1926, in respect of agricultural products; how many of these applications have been granted; and how many have been refused?

Sir J. GILMOUR

Applications have been made and referred to the Standing Committee in respect of 10 classes of agricultural products. With one exception Orders were recommended and made.

What was the one exception?

The one exception as with regard to oats. That was the only one that has been turned down.
